Back with a bang!
Well, after a break of two years our latest production is over! We had some fabulous feedback from our audience and also in the press – you can see more details and some of Tony’s photos here. If you want to find out more about the Agatha Christie references from the text, check this out.
A big thank you to everyone for supporting me with my first effort at writing a play – I really appreciate the trust you had in me!
Next step is to attempt to get it published… watch this space!
I’ll leave you with a candid behind the scenes shot of Patrick Ridgeway KC plotting the lights!
The Promise
What a brilliant performance on 5th June of H’s new play The Promise at Abingdon Drama Festival – congratulations everyone! It was followed by excellent, constructive comments from the adjudicator who clearly agreed that it was a strong, powerful, moving (and funny!) performance.
Compton Players performed The Promise again at Wallingford Drama Festival on Thursday 14th June and again received very positive comments from the adjudicator.
Mike Long
We were greatly saddened by the news that Mike passed away on Thursday 15th March – his birthday.
Mike was a long standing member of the CP’s. His first appearance was in 1985 in Pink String and Sealing Wax as Dr O’Shea; this was to be the start of him acting with the Compton Players. He was involved as an actor, director, or with lights/sound in over 30 productions.
From about 2010 onward Mike pursued a professional career, and he also acted with the Sinodun players. He took part in many Murder Mysteries too for Helen’s group Charaderie.
Our sincere condolences to Dot and family
Rest in Peace Mike.
