In a remote, lonely house on the marshes of the Thames estuary. An ex-actress lives with her companion; a visit from the latter’s two eccentric sisters, who make themselves at home, precipitates events, compounded by the arrival of a mysterious nephew. The result is disappearance and suspicions of murder.

 

This autumn The Compton Players revisit a classic production from our past, originally staged by us in 1973, Ladies In Retirement by Edward Percy and Reginald Denham.

 

This production will mark a triumphant 60th anniversary for director Eric Saxton’s time with The Compton Players. 52 years on from when Eric produced our original staging of this intriguing and captivating play, we’re excited to revisit it with a (mostly) new cast and a fresh vision to once more bring this atmospheric, tense and mysterious psychological thriller to life!
